Easter

Under the pine tree at Grandma's house!
The kids were very excited to go downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny brought them this year.  They received all sorts of candy, pin wheels, and bubbles.  Nathan almost eat all of the candy in one morning - he was on a sugar high by the time we left the house.

Earlier in the week I bought some fake eggs filled with confetti.  That morning I walked up to Ashley and said "Ashley look at this egg" - she was really concerned and then I broke the egg on top of her head where the confetti fell all over her. The look on her face was great because she thought I actually broke a real egg on her head.  Then of course we all grabbed the eggs and had fun getting each other.

We went over to LezLee's house to have an Easter Londin (lunch/dinner) - she made a very tasty ham with asparagus and potatoes.  For dessert we had a banana cream pie.  The kids had fun finding the Easter eggs and spent time outside blowing bubbles and enjoying the warm sun.

It was a great Easter!

Until next time...

Coloring Eggs

Nathan having fun with the eggs!
This year we had a lot of fun coloring and painting the eggs.

Nathan handled the process much better this year.  I remember last year, he got so angry and upset because we would not let him throw the eggs into the dye or put more than one in at a time.  He actually had a lot of fun seeing the eggs turn color and painting them. Of course his attention only last about 30 minutes!

Ashley's rainbow egg!

Ashley made very nice rainbow painted egg! She also took her time and made different designs and added glitter to them. She did a very nice job!

Until next time...

New Bikes

Look at their new bikes!
On Saturday, Richard and I surprised the kids with their new bikes!

Ashley's old bike was getting way to small - her knees were hitting the handle bars. She loves the bright pink color and stars in her wheels. Now she can go around the block with a lot of power and speed - look at her go!

This was Nathan's first tricycle and was not exactly sure how to use it yet.  He did like putting things in the back compartment behind the tricycle.  We will need to work with him on it this summer.

Until next time...

Lost Tooth

Lost her upper front tooth!
Ashley finally lost her upper front tooth last night!

It started to come loose about 4 months ago....that one took awhile.  She was very excited about putting the tooth under her pillow and the tooth fairy coming.  She decided to take it out of the pillow pouch and look it in the bathroom.  A few minutes later I hear her crying and I walk in and ask her what is wrong.  She dropped the tooth down the sink drain...

That really upset her because the tooth fairy could not keep the tooth safe.  I felt bad for her because when she lost her first bottom tooth, she dropped it in our couch and could not find it.  She was worried about the tooth fairy not giving her anything for it, so she wrote a note explaining what happened and she was sorry.

When she woke up, the tooth fairy did leave her some money, a dance ribbon and a note saying it was okay.  Maybe with the next tooth, she will learn to keep it safe before she puts it under her pillow.

Until next time...

Spring Snow

Our patio table
We had a spring snow storm yesterday morning that brought about 6-8 inches to our area.  It was very beautiful with all of the trees covered and the snow falling lightly.  But, the wind had to pick up and blew it all off of the trees.

It was a very wet and heavy snow so it took some muscle to shovel the driveway.  Ashley loved it and had a great time throwing snowballs.  Nathan on the other hand wanted nothing to do with it and stayed inside watching Nemo...

Now we just need a few more spring storms like this one before summer comes.

Until next time...
