A New Year's resolution is a secular tradition, most common in the Western Hemisphere but also found in the Easter Hemisphere, in which a person makes a promise to do a self-improvement or something slightly nice, such as opening doors for people beginning from New Year's Day.
Usually, I don't like to make resolutions because at the of the year I feel that I have failed since I did not accomplish any of them. Do you ever feel that way? Well, this year I do feel a little more motivated to accomplish at least my top two:
To get into shape - I have carried the "baby" weight for the last seven years now; it is time to say goodbye to it! Richard and I are going to Maui, Hawaii for our ten year anniversary and I would love to feel good in shorts and a bikini on the beach.
Live a healthier life style - I have a strong desire to consume healthier food choices and become more active in the outdoors. Not only to keep my good health but to not have health problems down the road. I want to set a good example for Ashley and Nathan- to show them HOW to live a healthy life style - something that I was never taught.
Do you have any new year's resolutions?
Until next time...
