Miramont Castle

The month of January is going by way too fast.  A lot has happened in the last two weeks.

The first week of the new year, our garage door broke.  We ended up having to replace the spring but the good news is that the door opens up much quieter now.

In the second week, Richard and I upgraded our half bathroom on the main level. We installed a new brushed nickle sink faucet, towel ring, door handle and light fixture. I also bought new accessories and framed my pictures I took of fall aspen trees in Colorado and wild purple flower in South Dakota. It turned out very nice and we are excited that we were able to do it on our own.

In the third week, I had the worse UTI infection that I have ever experienced.  I have had them in the past, but this had so much pain that I was crying and had to go to the First Choice ER to get some pain medicine and antibiotics.  When I got home at 1:00 am, I took the medicine and was able to get some sleep. The next day, the medicine did not sit well and I was getting sick and feeling nausea the whole day.  Richard was able to get a new type of medicine which worked like a charm.

On Saturday the 18th, LezLee took me to the Miramont Castle for high tea. It is an old manor that was build in 1862 and was very beautiful.  We had two kinds of teas, one kind of tea with the scones and tea sandwiches and one kind of tea with the desserts.  We had cranberry scones with butter and jelly.  The tea sandwiches consisted of a cucumber with radish, chicken salad, tomato with mozzarella and basil and a ham and Bree cheese. The desserts were good and our favorite was the spice cake that tasted like cinnamon, but we also had a peanut butter fudge, regular fudge and chocolate brownie. There was also coconut, but we both do not like coconut. I had a wonderful time!
Until next time...
